Artist Statement "Because the human face has always fascinated me, my first art work centered around the figure and portraiture. Over the years, however, I have used the human face to pursue the challenge of capturing atmosphere, expression, character, moral and mental attitudes. "In this series of 8" x 8" drawings in carbon pencil, I have tried to present the subject in a different way. I chose attitudes and/or professions that were not always representatiive of the sitter. My goal was to populate "My Town" with various characters reflecting psychological expressions of our times."
